Jeevamrit

Jeevamrit is a concoction prepared to improve the microorganism count in the soil which improves the fermentationa rate and thus soil sustenance.

The composition is as follows

  • Desi cow ka gobar & gomutra which contains millions of microorganisms
  • The microorganisms multiply much faster if simple sugars are present. Hence we should add gud, fruit pulp, sugarcane juice, sugarcane pieces. (FPJ in korean natural farming has the same concept)
  • To feed the organisms, we need to add something. Protein is the best here. So adding besan works.

Ingredients

  1. 200l Water
  2. 5-10l Goumutra
  3. 10kg Gobar
  4. 1kg Jaggery
  5. 1kg Besan
  6. 1 mutthi Mitti

Process

  1. Mix all the ingredients in a tank
  2. Rotate clockwise to dissolve it
  3. Cover with a jute bag and kep it overnight.
  4. Prevent the mixture from direct sunlight or rain water, but should have a good airflow
  5. Every day morning & evening, it should be rotated to mix JA and also oxygenate it.

When the temperature is above 12 degrees, it's ready for use in 48 hours. For lower temperatures, it would take upto 4 days to get ready. JA can be used upto 14 days, with it's maximum potency being between day 7 and day 10.

Strain JA and apply in the fields.

Notes:

  • 200l of JA is the amount needed for 1 acre of farmland applied 1-2 times a month
  • Best results of JA are observed between 24-32 degree celsius + sun intensity between 5000-7000 ft candle

Application

  1. It can supplied as part of the irrigation
  2. Can be given between 2 plants
  3. It should be sprayed on standing plants. (Some people have also talked about drenching the plant)
  4. Small Plants
    1. During Rains: 1 cup between 2 plants
    2. During summers: only pour during the evening
    3. After rains, it can be spread across the farm
  5. Small Fruit Trees
    1. Per tree, give 1-2l JA 1-2 times a month.
    2. Apply on the periphery of the tree. Along the shadow of the tree at noon.
  6. Medium Fruit Trees - 3-5l, 1-2 times a month
  7. Large Fruit Trees - 6-10l, 1-2 times a month
  8. During Plantation
    1. After a month till 6 months - 200ml/plant/mo
    2. 6-12 months - 500ml / plant / mo OR in irrigation water
